Lilies of the Valley

grace my altar

lending their lovely

scent to the room.

grace my alter

as in meditation,

my senses swoon. 

Lilies of the Valley 

grace my altar

fragrant, yet fleeting,

they’ll be gone soon. 

Lilies of the Valley

grace my altar

lending their lovely

scent to the room. 

From another side of the gate,

she watches. 

Through liminal space 

our eyes meet. 

I recognize her,

as she does me. 

For a moment 

our souls entwine 

between worlds,

different

yet 

one. 

Each, gatekeeper

each, protector

each, traveler

through worlds. 

Our eyes lock

without expression. 

Then she lifts

her 

hand

and

I 

lift 

mine. 

For a brief moment

we acknowledge each other

until

the glamour

fades

and I,

never alone,

remain.
